Effect Of The Grant Increase On Beneficiaries

A R2,190 monthly grant would turn out to be better financial assistance for caregivers and would help them pay the very high fees that medical treatment, specialized equipment, and basic needs for children with disabilities incur. This increase is also a manifestation of SASSA’s will to improve the financial stability and well-being of poorer households. However, advocacy groups continue to pressure for further increases to keep pace with inflation and rising costs in caregiving.
