Salary Hike Update: Increased pressure along with the employee and worker unions on the Saini government is for raising the minimum wage. This pressure stems also from rising inflation due to which the Union Government Employees in the state have also raised demands for salary increases. Such demands speak all about the increased expenses due to the cost of living.
Government Response Meeting Plan
In consideration of this demand, the government will convene the Minimum Wage Increase Board on March 5. Haryana determines minimum wage rates on the basis of the Worker Consumer Price Index, which is revised twice a year.
Current salary structure
The minimum wages given to employees and laborers in the state are as follows: ₹11,001 for unskilled workers, ₹12,736 to ₹13,372 for skilled employees, and ₹14,041 per month for highly skilled ones. Apart from this, day-to-day payment for semi-skilled people is between ₹11,551 and ₹12,129 per month.
Need For Amendment And Future Direction
The provision of increasing the minimum wage twice a year exists in Haryana; it is there to ensure that the salaries are adjusted in accordance with inflation. The intention of this policy is to make the people financially secure and make the living standard high. This increase helps in improving the purchasing power of the employees, thereby improving social and economic status.
