Dearness Allowance 2025: When Will Central Employees Get DA, know Update 

DA Payment 2025 : It must be noted that Holi will be celebrated all throughout the country on March 14, 2025. In such a case, there are many rumors that it can be approved in a cabinet meeting even before Holi.

7th pay commission: On the one hand, the central employees await the recommendations of the Eighth Pay Commission. On the other hand, they also wait for DA i.e., dearness allowance from the first half of the financial year. In fact, the important decision for dear allowance for January to June is going to be announced. Considering the earlier events, it is finalized every year in March.

The announcement is made by the government around Holi. So this time also, the announcement regarding the increase in allowance is all likely to take place before Holi. As per the known facts, Holi will be celebrated throughout the country on March 14, 2025. Hence, it is assumed that it could be approved in the cabinet meeting held before Holi.

How Much Will DA Increase 

The Government of India might hike the dearness allowance by 3 to 4 percent. With this, a 57 percent dearness allowance applies to Central employees. To recall that in October 2024, the Union Cabinet approved an extra installment for the July half-year of 3 percent dearness allowance and dearness relief to central government employees and pensioners. Earlier, it was 50 percent. Allowances to central employees are paid twice in a year; these are decided at half-yearly intervals. This allowance is granted on basic salary. This is payment according to the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission. 

Waiting For The Recommendations Of The Eighth Pay Commission

Central employees are now waiting for the recommendations of the Eighth Pay Commission. In January this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the constitution of the Eighth Pay Commission for restructuring the salaries of central employees and allowances of pensioners. This will benefit almost 50 lakh Central Government employees and about 65 lakh pensioners. The Seventh Pay Commission was constituted in the year 2014 and its recommendations were implemented with effect from January 1, 2016. Its term would in 2026.
