It was expected to be implemented on Holi, but that did not come through, and the wait for employees has become longer. Tomorrow seems to be the end of the wait for over 1.15 crore central employees and pensioners of the country. There may be communication gathered by the employees concerning an increase in dear allowance. Though what benefit may accrue to the central employees and pensioners does not seem to be on the higher side.
So Why Is It Likely For The Announcement To Be Made Tomorrow
A cabinet meeting on Wednesday may witness the proposed announcement of increased rates of allowance (DA) and dearness relief on this date. Under PM Modis chairmanship, a decision can put paid to the worries of employees being ousted. It will be operationalized effective January 1, and the government shall pay salaries into employee accounts along with payment in arrears.
Increase In Dearness Allowance
The central government is likely to increase the DA soon. An increase of 2 percent in the Dearness Allowance (DA) is likely, thus raising it from 53% to 55%. According to some reports, an increase of three percent is possible. The decision will be taken at the cabinet meeting under the chairmanship of PM Modi.
Increase Of 3% Before
Theres was an increase of 3% in the dearness allowance salary of the recipient in October 2024 for the period of July 1. The D.A. was placed at 50 percent; now it stands at Rs.3percent above at 53 percent. If so, D.A. can rise to 55 percent with an increase of 2 percent.
Salary Increase Of Employees
With the increase of DA by 2%, the basic salary of Rs. 18,000 will see an increase of Rs. 360 in the salary of the employee every month. The dearness allowance at the moment stands at Rs. 9,540. Therefore, with an increase of 55% D.A., it will become Rs. 9,900. In case the government increases the same by 3%, the D.A. will go up to Rs. 10,080, thereby resulting in an increase of only Rs. 540 for the employees per month.
Increase In Dearness Allowance After 6 Months
The dearness allowance and dearness relief (DR) will increase based only on their AICPI. The dearness allowance is paid for every picture and reviewed from time to time: between January 1 and July 1 of each calendar year; announcements pertaining to all these are traditionally made sometime around March or September.
