DA Hike Alert, Central Employees To Get Dearness Allowance Boost In Just 3 Days

Major Update In Upcoming Boost

A major update has happened for the employees and pensioners in the Central government. The increase in Dearness Allowance Hike, pending since Eighth Pay Commission approval, is what the government employees look forward to. A decision regarding hiking dearness allowance is expected to be taken on the 5th of March-the cabinet meeting is on Wednesday, that is, 5th March. 

Last time too, based on the previous year data, the announcement for a DA hike was made prior to Holi by the central government. Therefore, it is said that this time around, the rainy day spirits may once again look favorably on an announcement for the DA hike at 5th March. In essence, the key moment for the revision of DA (DA Hike Latest Update) will be January and July of each year, with the first increasing change from January 1, 2025.

By How Much Inflation Increase

Central governments may soon give big good news to its crores of government employees before Holi. It is presumed that this time too the increase of 3 to 4 percent in dearness allowance (DA Hike) could be announced by the government. Last DA increase was of three percent. According to the data of the AICPI index, increase of three to four percent seems feasible this time. With this, the basic salary of the entry-level employees of the central government will increase. Employees whose minimum basic salary (Basic Salary Hike News) is Rs. 18,000 per month will get an increment of Rs. 540 to Rs. 720 per month.

How Is DA Calculated?

Now it was Rs 9,540, that is, 53 percent as Dearness Allowance on a minimum basic salary of Rs 18,000 of a government employee. With an increase of 3 percent, the Dearness Allowance will go up to Rs 10,080 and will give the employee a pay hike of Rs 540. 

How About Last Year-Dearness Allowance

The central government, with effect from March 2024, announced the increase of Dearness Allowance by 4 percent from 46 percent to 50 percent. After that, in October 2024, there was another increase of 3 percent when DA went up from 50 percent to 53 percent. The employees and pensioners of the center are getting DA at this rate of 53 percent at present. As usual now, from January 2025, it is projected that DA might go by 3 to 4 percent more. If the central government decides in favor of this, then a little over one crore central employees and pensioners will benefit from it (Government Employees News). Once that increase is materialized, there will also be an increase in the salary of employees.
