7th Pay Commission: Central Staff to Face a Shocking Blow in the Coming 8th Pay Commission. Presently, the most critical among central employee salaries is the allowances. It is reported that most allowances for central employees will be scrapped in the upcoming pay commission. The removal of such age-old allowances will certainly come out in the salary of employees. As per reports, even many allowances were omitted under the 7th pay commission.

When Will The New Pay Commission Be Formed?

The 8th pay commission was approved by the central government for central employees at the beginning of the new year. Since then, the employees have been waiting for the formation of the new pay commission and it is expected that the Narendra Modi government at the center can come out next month with the names of a chairman and two members for the formation of the new pay commission. In that case, the recommendations of the new pay commission can be made by the coming year.

Discussion On The Salary Hike Is Gaining Momentum

The 8th Pay Commission has been approved by the Central Government, and ever since then, the talks have become more intense, favoring an increase in salary and pension benefits among the employees with an enhanced fitment factor. Such an increase in salary for employees and pension for pensioners would benefit more than one crore families in the country.

These Allowances Have Been Scrapped Under The 7th Pay Commission

The 7th Pay Commission’s recommendations came into effect on January 1, 2016. During that period, the Pay Commission evaluated a total of 196 allowances. Of these only 95 allowances were included in the 7th Pay Commission. The remaining 101 allowances were scrapped, some of which were merged with other allowances and some completely scrapped.

Possibility For 8th Pay Commission Next Month

It is highly likely that the 8th Pay Commission will be formed in the month of April. After that, central government can announce the names of the chairman and two other members of the commission. It takes about a year for the central government to finalize the report. Many prominent people, including representatives of central employees, will be interviewed by the central pay commission.
